Welcome to Westminster Christian School. We hope this website is helpful as your family considers a Westminster education. We are thankful that you have chosen to examine the option of an education at Westminster Christian School.

The decision on where a child will receive an education is never an easy one nor should it be. The educational process will shape your child in more ways than just those that are academic. During a k-12 experience a child's worldview is molded and shaped. A child will often develop heroes and mentors as well as life long friends during this time of his or her life. Those should be a reflection of who you are as parents.

Our mission is of great importance in this process we call education. Westminster Christian School feels strongly that the responsibility of education, according to the word of God, rests with the parents. Therefore, the education of children is truly a partnership between a school and the parents.

There are many views of Christian education. At Westminster Christian School, we believe the educational experience is not a pragmatic one but instead it is spiritual in nature. The process of education will develop the academic side of your child but it will also contribute to your child's faith, socialization, emotional stability, and view of the world. If the education of your children is a partnership, then the school that you partner with should closely reflect your deepest beliefs. After all, the older your child gets the more time he or she spends away from you and in the school setting. Shouldn't that school reflect your deepest beliefs as it loves, admonishes, and disciplines your child in your place? We believe it should.

We believe that a Christian education has many different facets. At WCS there are two facets that drive who we are: first, we believe in providing your child an education that is rooted in Christ, that produces critical thinkers, and that prepares them for college and the world. Secondly, we believe in a work ethic. We will therefore expect much from your child, but never in a universal way. We believe each child has an individual zone of proximal development and that through direct instruction they can reach heights at one time unimaginable.
